Blueberry Oats

Blueberry Steel cut oats

Steel-cut oats are super healthy but take a long time to cook. When cooking the oats, I like to make sure that they are nice and soft.

Ingredients:

  • 0.5 cup of Blueberries
  • 0.25 cup of walnuts
  • 0.25 cup steel-cut oats
  • 0.5 a bananas
  • pinch of salt
  • 1-1.5 cups of water

To start it off, the steel cut will take 20-30 minutes to cook. I wanted the blueberries to be the source of flavor more than anything else. In a pot, 1 cup of water with a pinch of salt was brought to a boil then I added the steel-cut oats with blueberries and crushed walnuts. The heat is then lowered to medium/high to keep the water at a simmer and allow the oats to cook fully. I love blueberries when making my oats I rather prefer the blueberries to disintegrate and give a nice sweet flavor to the oats. While everything is cooking, I cut the bananas into slices and made a nice cup of coffee. At this point, the oats are ready, and it is time to garnish the oats with a banana.

bon appetit
